As somewhat of an antithesis to my previous post on reality and Agile, I present the idea of ScrumBut. For new teams, the ceremonies of Scrum are designed to address or prevent some of the well-known problems that could be faced in an Agile transition. I do strongly suggest that new Agile teams follow Scrum (or any other Agile method) religiously until they are mature as a team and with their practices. I was going to put a list of best practices together until I found this post on 35 Agile Development Best Practices.
